Masons Cottage is located in a stunning Cotswolds setting. It features a large country garden which is shared with the owners. There is a large bedroom with a king size bed, ensuite bathroom, sitting room, and kitchen.
While being connected to the main home, the cottage is completely self-contained. It also has fast broadband and parking.
We offer a complementary welcome pack, that includes eggs from our chickens, and honey from the apiary in the garden, as well as organic semi skimmed milk or alternatives such as oat milk. Please let us know your requests before arrival.
In an area of outstanding beauty, Masons Cottage was built of Cotswold stone in the 1800s and overlooks the garden. Which was designed by a professor of tree management at Oxford University, so is planted with many unusual trees. The garden is shared with the owners, but being approximately 1.5 acres, there should be a quiet spot to sit and relax. Adjacent to the garden is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) field which in the spring and early summer has orchids. When there are no sheep grazing in the field in spring and early summer months you are more than welcome to stroll around it.
A Neff electric oven, microwave, fridge with a small freezer section, dishwasher, and washing and dryer are all included in the fully furnished kitchen. The cottage’s flooring is either stone or parquet wood flooring with rugs, and the bedroom has a painted wooden floor.
The cotton used in the bedding is all organic. There is an extremely comfy Herdysheep mattress, and the duvet and pillows are made of sheep wool from Devon Duvet. Local pottery is in the kitchen and there is local art on the walls of the cottage.
The private car parking is around 50 metres from the cottage, and the garden and approach to it are both typical Cotswold rolling countryside. You might be greeted by one of our two friendly dogs.
If you have an electric vehicle, you are welcome to utilise the electric chargers provided for guests. Since they are standard electrical plugs, an EV adaptor is required.
Masons Cottage is very comfortable and well appointed in the heart of this lovely Oxfordshire village. The host has thought of everything and the location is great for walks and drives out.
Beautiful cottage! We had a lovely stay here, the host was very helpful and the owners were lovely! The fresh eggs from their chickens and the honey from their apiary were amazing too, we will definitely be staying here again soon 🙂
Lovely little cottage, with beautiful decor. Clean and comfortable. Directions make it super easy to find. Great location near lots of places to see and good pubs. Would definitely recommend! Dog friendly too!
